Q. Is the massage space private?
A. The massage therapy room is completely private and discreet. However, if you prefer you could choose to be treated in your own home for an additional fee to cover travel time. Don't worry if you are nervous about your first massage, as Tim will put you at ease, explain everything and answer any questions you may have.
Q. Do I undress completely and are toweling drapes used?
A. Many of my male clients prefer to be nude and un-draped for relaxation and ease of treatment. However, you can choose to keep your underwear on, or be covered by towelling drapes, if this is more comfortable for you. Of course, the Naturist massage choice involves full nudity.
Q. What if I have never been massaged by a man before?
A. All massages require a respect for each other's boundaries. Many of my clients are straight men who have no experience of touch from another man. Others have a strong bisexual or gay identity. Whatever your sexuality or massage experience, Tim can help advise on which massage will suit you.
Q. How long will a session last?
A. A Swedish, Deep Tissue or Naturist massage session is usually 1 hour. This includes your undressing and dressing time. For new clients a free initial assessment will be made which usually takes 5 - 10 minutes to complete. Your massage time only starts once the assessment is complete. If you want an extended massage session, 90 minute massages are also available.
Q. Can I shower before or after my massage therapy?
A. Generally, it is expected that you will arrive clean and ready for your massage session. Showering afterwards is usually not necessary as the massage oil is well absorbed by the body - a clean hand-towel is available to wipe off any excess oil. Clients wishing to shower before or after Swedish,Deep Tissue or Naturist massages will be charged a small additional FEE - AND should confirm their intention with Tim at the outset. Showering is undertaken WITHIN your massage time. Shower fees are £3 for a single shower; £5 if shower twice in a visit.
Q. Do you use natural or scented oils?
A. The oil I use is a natural light vegetable oil. For some massages this is enhanced by essential oils such as Ylang Ylang or Lavender. The oil is usually well absorbed by the body and a hand towel is available if you wish to towel off any excess oilt.
Q. Will the massage be tailored to suit me?
A. Yes, Tim will tailor the massage to suit your individual needs and wishes. The level of relaxation OR therapeutic deep tissue work OR lighter more sensual touch varies from client to client and massage to massage,depending on your requirements as a client.
Q. Do I have to book well in advance?
A. Since Tim is a solo therapist who cannot answer the telephone when working with clients, a new online booking system has been set up. This allows you to select your massage choice and book your session on an available day and time which suits you. Full instructions are on the bookings page. Generally, appointments require at least 24 hours notice, but if you are able to reach Tim by phone and an appointment is available on the day, then this can be arranged.
Q. Will I be contacted by you over the phone?
A. As some clients do not wish to receive return calls, Tim will only return your call if you have left a voice mail or text message indicating that you wish me to get in contact.
Q. Can I complete my assessment form in advance to save time?
A. Yes. If you want to complete your assessment form in advance, please download it, complete it and bring it with you for your 1st massage.
Q. Would I benefit from a Longer massage session?
A. If you wish a 90 minute Swedish, Deep Tissue or Naturist massage session can be arranged for an additional fee.
Q. Is your service available to everyone?
A. Massage for Men is a massage service available to all Men regardless of their Age, Sexuality, Race or Religion. Many of my clients are staight men. Others are gay or bisexual or bi-curious. If any of these areas raise questions for you about receiving massage please contact me and I will be happy to discuss your concerns.
Q. I am worried I might get an erection during the massage?
A. You don't need to worry. Massage is a touch therapy and sometimes when a man's body is deeply relaxed an erection naturally occurs. It is not a concern if this happens, and so prospective male clients should not worry about this.
